GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Seniors
Taya Hopfauf and
Camryn Lasota were two of 15 student-athletes named to the 2026 Summit League Softball Academic All-League Team following voting by the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors. The honor recognizes outstanding achievement both academically and throughout the softball season.
This marks the second time the duo have earned all-league academic honors and the second academic distinction in the last week for the pair, as the two were named CSC Academic All-District selections last week.
Hopfauf closed out her collegiate career by also earning All-Summit League Honorable Mention honors and has a perfect 4.0 GPA in communication science and disorders. She was named the 2025-26 UND Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and led the team in at-bats (168) and RBIs (30) while tying for the team lead with five homers. She exits UND as the program's all-time leader in games played at 207.
Lasota posted a 3.976 GPA as a forensic science major while appearing in 50 games during her final season with the program. The senior hit .292 with five home runs, 26 RBIs and 25 runs scored while pacing the squad with a .431 on-base percentage. Lasota notched 12 multi-hit games and a trio of three-hit contests while drawing at least one walk in 31 contests.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions, except pitchers who must have participated in 20 percent of their team's total contests.
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league's seven institutions that carry softball, and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and facility athletic representatives (FARs). The team is made up of the 10 student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
