BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The North Dakota women's golf team turned a one-shot deficit into a championship on Tuesday, capturing the team title at the Tracy Lane Memorial at Bemidji Town & Country Club. The Fighting Hawks fired a tournament-best 317 in the final round to finish at 639 (+63), seven strokes clear of runner-up Sioux Falls (646).

North Dakota's victory was highlighted by a dominant individual performance from Gigi Lund, who led wire-to-wire to earn medalist honors. Lund followed her opening-round 77 with a 78 on Tuesday to finish at 155 (+11), five strokes ahead of the field. Lund was the only golfer to hold the individual lead after the first round and never relinquished it, giving the Fighting Hawks both the team and individual championships.

The Hawks showcased remarkable depth throughout the two-day tournament, placing all five scorers inside the top five of the final leaderboard. Payton Stocker finished third overall with a 36-hole total of 160 (82-78), while Annika Jyrkas placed fourth at 162 (81-81). Lindsey Astrup and Kate McComb each tied for fifth at 163, with Astrup's score setting a new career best for a 36-hole event. McComb closed the tournament with one of the team's best rounds of the day, carding an 80 after opening with an 83.

North Dakota's consistency across the course powered the championship performance, as the Fighting Hawks led the tournament in par-3 scoring average (3.48), par-4 scoring average (4.54) and par-5 scoring average (5.25). UND also recorded the most pars (85) and finished second among all teams with 11 birdies during the event.

Several Fighting Hawks also paced the field in individual statistical categories. Astrup led all golfers with a par-3 scoring average of 3.13, while Lund topped the tournament in par-4 scoring average at 4.30. McComb tied for the tournament lead in par-5 scoring average at 5.00, and Lund's five birdies were the most by any player in the field.

The Fighting Hawks will return to action Sept. 21-22 at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate at Riverside Country Club in Bozeman, Montana.
