GRAND FORKS, N.D. –
The University of North Dakota volleyball team heads to the Lone Star State to compete in the Lamar Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Hosted by Lamar, the Fighting Hawks will also face Sam Houston and ULM.

UND will open the tournament against host Lamar and Sam Houston on Friday before facing ULM on Saturday morning.

The Fighting Hawks will face the Bearkats and Warhawks for just the second time in program history. UND leads both all-time series, 1-0. The Hawks last faced Sam Houston during the 2011 season at the Chilly Filmore's SFA Invitational, earning a 3-1 victory. North Dakota and ULM last met at the University of New Orleans Tournament in 2019, with UND also earning a four-set victory.

The Fighting Hawks return to action following a 2-1 weekend at The Joust in California. UND defeated host California Baptist and Sacred Heart in five-set thrillers, while its lone loss came against Idaho in four sets.

Friday's matchup against host Lamar will be the only UND match this weekend broadcast on ESPN+.
