Biography

The longest-tenured member of the men’s hockey program’s full-time staff, Mark Poolman, ATC, is in his 23rdnd season as the program’s athletic trainer and also doubles as the team’s strength and conditioning coordinator.

Poolman is a 1992 graduate of UND with bachelor degrees in physical education and athletic training. Poolman completed his master’s degree in exercise physiology at UND in 1997.

A native of Warren, Minn., Poolman was a three-year letterwinner on the gridiron and served as UND team captain during his senior season. He was also a first-team all-North Central Conference wide receiver for the Fighting Sioux in 1988.

Poolman and his wife, LeAnne, have three sons, Tucker (23), Colton (21) and Mason (14). Tucker was a standout defenseman at UND from 2014-17 and signed with the NHL's Winnipeg Jets following his junior season. Colton is a sophomore defenseman with the Fighting Hawks.
