KEARNEY, Neb. -- The UND volleyball team picked up their first win of the season with a decisive victory over Iowa Wesleyan 30-24, 30-13, and 30-12. The story of the match was UND's offensive attack. The Sioux finished the match with an astounding attack percentage of .377.
Leading the way for the Sioux was the combination of
Aileen Cahill (Sr., Blue Earth, Minn.) and
Tara Holmen (Jr., Berthold, N.D.) who each finished with 14 kills.
Kendyll Jones (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) also chipped into the Sioux onslaught by finishing with seven kills.
Assisting the Sioux hitters was the duo of
Allison Louwagie (So., Marshall, Minn.) and
Megan Langseth (Fr., Alexandria, Minn.) who finished with 22 set assists apiece.
Defensively the Sioux were led by junior
Nicole Delahanty (Apple Valley, Minn.) and senior
Heidi Evans (Roseau, Minn.) as they finished with 13 and 10 digs, respectively.
UND volleyball returns to action Friday as they play host for the Northern Extreme Fall Classic.
