GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The UND volleyball team suffered their second conference defeat on the season in three games. Augustana, the alma mater of Head Coach
Katy Peterson, defeated the Sioux in three games by the scores of 30-22, 30-28, and 30-28. The Fighting Sioux drop to (7-7 overall) and (1-2 in the NCC).
UND senior
Heidi Evans (Roseau, Minn.) had another career night as she slammed home 17 kills and completed her third double-double of the season by capping off her night with 10 digs. Sioux junior
Kendyll Jones (Plymouth, Minn.) contributed nine kills to the offense.
Setting the way for the Sioux hitters was sophomore
Allison Louwagie (Marshall, Minn.). Louwagie finished the game with 36 set assists and seven kills.
Defensively the Sioux were paced by sophomore
Lindsay Vortherms (Windom, Minn.) with 18 digs.
Nicole Delahanty (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) contributed to the defensive effort with 14 digs. Up front, Jones and fellow junior
Tara Holmen led the Sioux with four block assists apiece.
The Sioux return to conference action Saturday night as they will host South Dakota at 7 p.m.
