GRAND FORKS, N.D.--University of North Dakota junior forward Emmanuel Little has been named North Central Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced earlier today by the conference office. It is the second time in three weeks Little has been recognized by the NCC.
Little, a native of Chicago, Ill., led all players with 22 points and 17 rebounds in a 75-73 victory over Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday, the first NCC win of the year for the Sioux. Little's 17 rebounds, five of which came on the offensive end, were the most by an NCC player this season.
Little shot 9-for-16 (56.3%) from the field and dished out a pair of assists in helping UND snap a season-long five-game losing skid. It was his fourth 20-point outing of the season and his team-high fourth double-double.
In 19 games this season, including 17 starts, Little leads the team in scoring (14.7 ppg), rebounding (7.8 rpg) and field goal percentage (57.9%).
UND (9-10, 1-3 NCC) is on the road this week to face fifth-ranked Minnesota State on Thursday and Augustana on Saturday.
