GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- After spending the last two weekends on the road, UND returns home to face St. Cloud State. UND has already lost once to St. Cloud State this season. SCSU defeated UND 3-0 at home in St. Cloud, Minn.
SCSU brings two of the top players in the NCC into the contest. Junior outside hitter Emily Baldwin is tied for first in the NCC in kills per game with 4.24. Junior libero Andreana Pieper ranks first in the NCC in digs per game with 5.78. Freshman setter Jennifer Waterman has tallied 878 set assists on the season for an average of 10.58 per game. As a team, the Huskies are 9-14 overall and 1-5 in the NCC.
UND puts its 5-15 overall record and 0-6 NCC record on the line against St. Cloud State this Saturday. The Huskies' only NCC victory came over the Sioux on October 5. So far this season, UND has not won an NCC contest. Offensively, UND is led by sophomore Britta Hanson (Thompson, N.D.). Hanson averages 3.24 kills per game. As a team, UND is hitting .157 on the season. Freshman Courtney Halvorson (Oklee, Minn.) leads the defense. Halvorson has recorded double-digit dig totals in five straight games. For the season, Halvorson is averaging 3.54 digs per game.
The game time is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday and will be played at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in Grand Forks, N.D.
