ST. CLOUD, MINN. -- The Fighting Sioux volleyball team lost to St. Cloud State in three games, 30-14, 30-20, and 30-26. UND falls to 5-13 overall and remains winless in the NCC at 0-4. St. Cloud State improves to 8-11 overall and 1-3 in the NCC.
UND was unable to stop the hitting duo of Emily Baldwin and Ashley Shields. Baldwin finished with a game-high 21 kills and hit .349 and Shields tallied 17 kills and hit. 433 for the Huskies.
UND was led by sophomore Amanda Polzin (Hutchinson, Minn.) and Megan Langseth (Alexandria, Minn.). Polzin finished with a team-high 10 kills and Langseth tallied 29 set assists in the contest. Sophomore Britta Hanson (Thompson, N.D.) finished with nine kills for UND.
Defensively, the Sioux were led by a duo of freshman. Erin Joki (Grand Rapids, Minn.) and Courtney Halvorson (Oklee, Minn.) tallied 13 digs and 11 digs, respectively. The Sioux had eight receive errors compared to two for SCSU.
The Sioux will return to action on October 12 against Augustana. The game time is set for 7 p.m. and will be played in SIoux Falls, S.D.
