GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- North Dakota lost its final match in the North Central Conference to #16 Minnesota State. Minnesota State was too much as they won 30-16, 30-14, and 30-13. As a team, the Mavericks finished with a team attack percentage of .423. Minnesota State finished the regular season with an overall record of 19-8 and 7-5 in the NCC.
MSU's Ashley Nachreiner finished with a match-high 17 kills and an attack percentage of .467 (17k-3e-30Att.).
Offensively, the Sioux were led by senior Mary Blume (Herman, Minn.). Playing in her final game, Blume finished with seven kills, which were a team-high. Sophomore Amanda Polzin (Hutchinson, Minn.) contributed six kills to the UND offense.
UND finishes the season with a 6-23 overall record and 0-12 in the NCC.
It is the fourth time in Fighting Sioux volleyball history that they failed to win a game in conference play. The last time that UND didn't win a game in conference play was in 2004. Prior to 2004, UND was winless in the NCC in 1983 and 1984.
