GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The Fighting Sioux volleyball team finished with an attack percentage of .110, compared to South Dakota's .270. UND falls to 6-21 overall and 0-10 in the NCC. South Dakota improves to 22-7 overall and 5-5 in the NCC.
The first game was a back-and-forth battle, but in the end, South Dakota came out on top, 31-29. South Dakota used the momentum to win game two, 30-13. After the break, UND was unable to come back and the Coyotes went on to win 30-24.
Offensively, the Sioux were led by senior Mary Blume (Herman, Minn.). Blume tallied 10 kills in the game, a team-high. Setter Megan Langseth (So., Alexandria, Minn.) tallied her eighth double-double of the season. Langseth finished with 26 set assists and 11 digs in the contest. Langseth led the Sioux defense with the 11 digs.
With the loss, UND was swept in the season series by South Dakota. It is the first time that UND was swept by South Dakota since 2004.
North Dakota will return to action on Friday, Nov. 9 against Augustana. The game time is at 7 p.m. and it will be played at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
