Kimbrough earns second straight NCC Player of the Week nod

GRAND FORKS, N.D.--For the second consecutive week, North Dakota junior forward Kierah Kimbrough has been named North Central Conference Player of the Week, this time for her performance in UND's 82-47 league win over St. Cloud State last Thursday in Grand Forks.

Kimbrough, a native of Greenbush, Minn., scored a season-high 25 points and led all players with eight rebounds in leading UND to its fourth straight league victory of 15 or more points. Kimbrough went 10-for-15 (66.7%) from the field and 5-for-7 (71.4%) from the free throw line and recorded the 100th blocked shot of her career.

It is the fourth time this season a UND player has been named NCC Player of the Week. Senior center Ashley Langen was honored twice earlier this season. It is the sixth time in Kimbrough's career she has captured NCC weekly honors.

In 22 games this season, Kimbrough is averaging a team-leading 16.0 points per game and ranks second on the team with 7.8 rebounds per game.

The third-ranked Fighting Sioux (21-1, 6-1 NCC) return to action on Thursday at No. 25 at Augustana, then travel to Minnesota Duluth on Saturday.
