GRAND FORKS, N.D.--University of North Dakota senior center Ashley Langen and junior forward Kierah Kimbrough have been named to the 2007-08 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-Region team.

Langen and Kimbrough are now among the 40 finalists for the 10-player 2008 NCAA Division II State Farm Coaches' All-America basketball team.

Langen, a native of Kennedy, Minn., leads the North Central Conference in rebounding (10.7 rpg) and field goal percentage (.594) and ranks third in the league scoring race (16.7). She also ranks eighth in free throw percentage (.787) and ninth in blocked shots (0.79 bpg).

This season, Langen has moved into second place on UND's all-time scoring and rebounding lists and became the school's all-time leader in free throws made. It is the third straight season Langen has earned all-region honors; she was recognized by Daktronics, Inc., as a junior and sophomore.

Kimbrough, a Greenbush, Minn., native, ranks second only to Langen in the NCC rebounding race, averaging 7.7 boards per game. She also ranks third in the league in field goal percentage (.577), fourth in scoring (16.3 ppg), eighth in blocked shots (0.96 bpg) and 11th in free throw percentage (.768).

Kimbrough was named an all-region first team selection by Daktronics, Inc., last season as a sophomore.

The fifth-ranked Fighting Sioux (26-2) will face Augustana on Saturday afternoon in the NCC Tournament semifinal in Vermillion, S.D. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Carson-Newman's Dean Walsh will announce the State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team at the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Banquet on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at the University of Nebraska - Kearney in Kearney, Nebraska.
