BROOKINGS, S.D.--The University of North Dakota women's cross country team placed sixth today at the South Dakota State Classic at the Edgebrook Golf Course.
Senior Brittany Brenny (Staples, Minn.) was the top individual finisher for the Sioux, checking in 15th with a time of 18:35.5.
UND finished the meet with 184 team points.
Minnesota won the event with a team score of 24. Kansas State (50), North Dakota State (112), SDSU (119) and South Dakota (124) rounded out the top five in the team standings. Minnesota placed six of the top eight runners in the race.
Kansas State senior Beverly Ramos captured medalist honors with a time of 17:11.5 and was one of three Wildcats who placed among the top nine.
Brenny was the only Sioux runner to crack the top 25. Sophomore Katherine Enabnit (Carmichael, Calif.) narrowly missed out, placing 26th with a time of 19:19.7.
Senior Kristi Dahlheimer (Anoka, Minn.) joined teammates Brenny and Enabnit with a sub-20-minute time, clocking in at 19:53.7 to place 38th.
Anna Lipetzky (Fr., Moorhead, Minn.), Angela Kumm (So., Hutchinson, Minn.), Lori Benke (Sr., Jamestown, N.D.) and Kelsey Gilbert also ran for the Sioux, placing 45th, 60th, 64th and 69th, respectively.
