GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota cross country runner Jadyn Keeler will visit Columbia, Mo., this week to compete at the NCAA Championships. The women's 6K at nationals will begin the meet at 9:20 a.m. on Saturday.

All-America Status
At the NCAA Championships, the student-athletes who finish in the top 40 of their respective races will receive USTFCCCA All-America honors. North Dakota's last USTFCCCA All-American was Heidi Evans, who took 16th at the 2007 NCAA Division II National Championships.
Making History
Last week in Stillwater, Okla., North Dakota posted its best team finishes at the NCAA Midwest Regional in school history and Jadyn Keeler became the third Fighting Hawk to qualify for the NCAA Championships in UND's Division I era.
Keeler scanned her ticket to the NCAA Cross Country Championships in the women's 6K with a fourth place finish, clocking a time of 19:53.7. With the finish, she became just the third Fighting Hawk to qualify for the national championships in UND's Division I history, joining Yonca Kutluk (2023) and Patrick Kipkemboi (2020). She was also the second member of the women's team to earn USTFCCCA All-Region accolades in the Division I era.
With the help of Keeler's finish, the UND women placed eighth at the meet with 289 points, giving the Fighting Hawks their best finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional in school history. North Dakota took down the Power 4 schools of Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State and Kansas at the regional.
The NoDak men also had their top finish at the regional in program history, finishing 13th as a team with 415 points in the 10K. UND finished the race quicker than the Power 4 teams of Iowa, Illinois, Kansas State and Nebraska. Matej Hrebacka paced the men and was 41st in 31:46.9.
Keeler This Season
Prior to the NCAA Midwest Regional, Jadyn Keeler won the individual 6K title at the Summit League Championships with a time of 19:21.1. She dominated the competition and shattered the meet record by more than a minute to not only capture the title but also gain First Team All-Summit League honors and the Championship M.V.P. award. Her time eclipsed the previous Summit League Championships record time of 20:32.92, set by Purdue Fort Wayne's Emma Rafuse in 2018.
During the regular season, Keeler won four individual titles and took third at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
Her season was highlighted by a win at Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational with a 6K time of 20:57.3. She became the first athlete in UND's Division I history to earn a title at a Power 4 meet. With the help of her finish, the Fighting Hawks finished third as a team – the best team finish at Minnesota in UND history. After Keeler's performance at Minnesota, she was named the M-F Athletic NCAA Division I Women's National Athlete of the Week. She also piled up four Kwik Star Summit League Women's Peak Performer of the Week accolades during the regular season.
In the final week of the regular season, Keeler recorded the second-best individual finish at a Power 4 meet in program history, placing third in the 6K at Texas A&M with a PR of 19:08.2. Her 6K time currently sits as the 6K record in the history of the Summit League. Paced by Keeler's finish, UND placed seventh as a team and beat out the Power 4 schools of Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor and TCU.
Scott Named Summit League Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year
Coach Scott led the UND women to their first Summit League title in history, winning the conference meet with 34 points. It was not only the first Summit League team crown for the cross country team, but also the first title for North Dakota in any sport since joining the conference.
At the conference meet, UND's women were trailed by SDSU (53 points) and NDSU (71 points).
Jadyn Keeler was also the Summit League 6K champion with a time of 19:21.1. Along with Keeler's outstanding performance,
Shewaye Johnson (fourth, 20:25.5) and
Marie-Louise Jorgensen (fifth, 20:45.4) also received First Team All-Summit League status. Jorgensen, a true freshman, earned the title of Newcomer of the Championship with her finish.
Katherine Rogers rounded out the All-Summit League Team for UND and garnered Second Team accolades after taking ninth in 21:01.3.
Elle Sondag was one spot shy of All-Summit League honors, finishing 15th with a time of 21:11.5 to score the final points for the Fighting Hawks.
Frida Giersdorff and
Gabrielle Wahl were the alternate point scorers and took 16th (21:11.9) and 17th (21:13.2), respectively.
During the regular season, the UND women won the team titles at the Ron Pynn Classic, Dragon Twilight and Jimmie Invitational. They also finished third at the Roy Griak Invitational at Minnesota and seventh at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M.
At Minnesota, the third-place finish was the best for North Dakota in its Division I history. Keeler was victorious in the 6K at that meet with a time of 20:57.3 and became the first athlete in UND's Division I history to earn an individual title at a Power 4 meet.
At Texas A&M, the UND women beat out the Power 4 schools of Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor and TCU. Keeler recorded the second-best individual finish at a Power 4 meet in program history, placing third with a 6K PR of 19:08.2 Her finish was the best for a North Dakota woman at the meet in the history of the Arturo Barrios Invitational. Her time also set a new 6K record for the Summit League. The previous 6K record time in the league was 20:06.8.
After her performance at Minnesota, Keeler was named the M-F Athletic NCAA Division I Women's National Athlete of the Week. She also piled up four Kwik Star Summit League Women's Peak Performer of the Week accolades during the regular season.
Coach Scott was also the runner-up for the title of Summit League Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year. The UND men were the runners-up at the Summit League Championships with 46 points, trailing only South Dakota State (38 points). It marked the best finish for the Fighting Hawks at the conference meet since joining the league.
The Fighting Hawk men accumulated five All-Summit League performances at the meet. UND runners earning First Team status were
Louis-Lys Fanucchi (third, 23:58.8) and
Matej Hrebacka (seventh, 24:01.2). Second Team honorees were
Aleksa Milanovic (10th, 24:13.0),
Ethan Adams (12th, 24:16.3) and
Henrik Lindstrot (14th, 24:30.0).
During the regular season, the UND men won the team titles at the Ron Pynn Classic, Dragon Twilight and Jimmie Invitational. They were also fifth at the Roy Griak Invitational and ninth at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
