ORLANDO, Fla. ? The University of North Dakota tennis team was defeated 6-1 by Cleveland State this morning, ending UND's eight-match winning streak.

Junior Katie Callison (Mesa, Ariz.) provided the Fighting Sioux with their lone victory on the day, defeating Charlotte Gibbons in No. 2 singles action. Callison earned 6-2 and 7-5 wins over Gibbons.

Cleveland State took the remaining five singles matchups and swept doubles competition. CSU's Catherine Bjerrehus defeated Emily Callison (Sr., Mesa, Ariz.) in No. 1 singles, then teamed with Gibbons to down Emily Callison and Katie Wessman (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) in No. 1 doubles.

Melissa Holzinger, Jackie Tabb, Myra Pepino and Sanda Bjelan also claimed singles wins for the Vikins. Pepino and Bjelan teamed to defeat Katie Callison and Molly Maurer (Jr., Hutchinson, Minn.) in No. 2 doubles, while Tabb and Holzinger paired to defeat Brynne Wischer (Jr., Grand Forks) and Tiffany Reisenauer (Fr., Dickinson, N.D.) in No. 3 doubles.

The Sioux will return to action Monday morning against Farleigh Dickinson. The match begins at 8 a.m.
