LINCOLN, Neb.--The University of North Dakota women's cross country team, paced by the efforts of senior Brittany Brenny, finished in fourth place this morning at the 20th annual Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational at Pioneers Park.
Brenny, a native of Staples, Minn., clocked in with a time of 21:26.93 to finish eighth individually in the university division and 11th overall among 266 university and college division runners. UND finished with a team score of 103 in the five-team university division field.
The host Huskers won the university division for the fifth straight year, boasting the top two individual finishers and five of the top 15. Nebraska junior Lara Crofford earned medalist honors with a time of 20:32.7, five seconds better than teammate and runner-up Rachel Carrizales.
UND sophomore Emily Emerson (Lino Lakes, Minn.) joined teammate Brenny in the top 20, placing 19th with a time of 22:40.53.
Fellow sophomore Katherine Enabnit (Carmichael, Calif.) placed 23rd, charting the course in a time of 23:00.93.
Senior Kristi Dahlheimer (Anoka, Minn.) and freshman Anna Lipetzky (Moorhead, Minn.) also counted toward UND's team score. Dahlheimer placed 25th with a time of 23:17.08 while Lipetzky finished 28th with a time of 23:34.48.
Senior Lori Benke (Jamestown, N.D.) and sophomore Meghan Enabnit (Carmichael, Calif.) also competed for the Sioux, placing 34th and 35th, respectively.

UND is now idle for a week and will return to action Oct. 3 at the South Dakota State Classic in Brookings. The women's race begins at 11:15 a.m. at the Edgebrook Golf Course.
