This past Saturday our team made a trip to Faribault, Minn., to play the Shattuck-St. Mary's boy's AAA team. Despite outshooting them significantly we ended up losing the game 8-5 with SSM scoring two empty net goals in the last two minutes.
Although it was a tough loss, it was great to see all our old coaches, teachers, and classmates. Everyone on the team was pretty amazed at the history and success of the hockey program Shattuck has and we were fortunate enough to get the oppurtunity to play there. It is definitely a decision we would make again!
After a day off and a couple days of practice our next game was against the Gophers. We ended up winning 8-5 and outshooting them 56-20.
As our time in Blaine winds down and Vancouver gets closer and closer it is hard to believe that it's almost here, but we still have a couple tough weeks ahead of us with practices, workouts, and games. Before heading to Vancouver though we will be able to attend the Sioux vs. Gopher series at Marriuci Arena.
Good luck to both the men's and women's team. Go Sioux!
