As the opening ceremonies get closer and closer we find every game becoming more important. We just got back to Blaine after an eight-day road trip.
We started at the Xcel Energy Center where we lost to Canada 2-1, although we outshot them significantly. The next day we took off to Ottawa, Ontario, where we left the airport with fewer bags than we began with. We had the oppurtunity to go to the Senators game, where some of our teammates were able to meet Carrie Underwood!
The next day we played Canada again in front of 16,000 fans (record setting croud for a women's hockey game) and ended up losing in a shootout. Although we lost our last games to Canada, our team is feeling very confident going into the Olympics after the way we competed this past week.
After Ottawa we left for Connecticut and ended up losing more bags but were able to recover them a few hours before our game started against the ECAC All-Stars. We won the game 9-2 and left the next day for Madison.
Before getting on our flight we were able to get a practice at Fenway Park and dress in the Red Sox clubhouse. It was really an experience unlike any other.
In Madison, Wis., we played the Univeristy of Wisconsin where we won 9-0. The team is now back in Blaine, Minn., for the next couple weeks and our next game is against the boys Shattuck AAA team this Saturday.
Both of us are excited to get back to our old stomping grounds and as our time winds down in Blaine, we find ourselves preparing for something that we have dreamed about ever since our first days playing with the Grand Forks Supras.
