ALL TIME VS...
South Dakota : 26-46
SENIOR DAY: Taking the field today at home for the last time as members of the Fighting Sioux are seniors Casie Hanson and Kristi Alcorn.
LAST ACTION: UND improved its record to 4-0 at home this season with a doubleheader sweep over Minnesota State University, Moorhead in non-conference action. The Sioux used a 10-1 six-inning win and a 6-3 victory in the nightcap to improve to 12-28 on the season. Kayelee Schoeny led the Sioux offensively with five hits in seven at-bats as UND combined for 20 hits in the two games. She also scored two runs and had one RBI.
REAPING THE REWARDS OF A THEIF: Casie Hanson has shown during her career she has been able to do anything asked off her. She has been an outstanding defender while putting up numbers offensively that will leave her name in the record books for UND in nearly every category. Entering her senior season she was no slouch when it came to stealing bases but she has taken it to a new level in her final campaign. She entered this year with 32 career swipes and has a chance of totaling that this season with 22 already on the year.
FINDING THE LONG BALL: Freshman Linda Sippola hit her first collegiate home run on April 2 and has since hit three more for a total of four in her last seven games. She also leads the team with six multiple RBI games.
LOOKING FOR 7's: Both Hanson and and Kayelee Schoeny have six game hitting streaks going entering Saturday. Schoeny has a .500 average over those games going 10-for-20 while Hanson follows with a .429 average (9-for-21).
