GRAND FORKS, N.D. - For the second consecutive year, the University of North Dakota Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will participate in the Altru Health System "Spin For Kids" fundraiser. The Spin for Kids mission is to provide supportive programs, services and equipment to children with special medical needs within our community and region.
Spin for Kids is an indoor race on stationary spin bikes. Each team consists of eight riders that ride for 20 minutes each. There is a five minute break between each rider to record mileage and change riders. Each team is required to raise a minimum of $75 in race pledges to support the mission. UND's SAAC has established a goal of $1200 for its two teams.
UND student-athletes will be spinning to raise money at the men's basketball and men's hockey games on Saturday, March 3rd. Fans wishing to make donations may do so directly to the student-athletes at these events.
Saturday's men's basketball game against Utah Valley begins at 2 p.m. and the men's hockey game against Minnesota State begins at 7:07 p.m.
The UND SAAC kicked off its efforts by spinning at the Feb. 11 women's basketball game against NJIT.
