OMAHA, Neb. – The University of North Dakota softball team dropped a pair of games to Nebraska Omaha, by scores of 8-0 and 10-0, on Tuesday afternoon.
UND only managed to record four hits on the day, all of which came in the second game of the doubleheader, as UNO's Dana Elsasser threw a no-hitter to start the day. Caralyn Chewning hit a double for one of UND's four hits. The other three came off the bats of D Jantzer, Kaylin VanDomelen and Toni Schutte.
Chewning started in the circle for UND in the first game, pitching 4.1 innings. Chewning only conceded five earned runs on nine hits. VanDomelen started her 18th game of the season in the nightcap. She pitched 1.2 innings before Taylor Hansen came in for relief. Hansen only gave up one earned run off of seven hits.
North Dakota plays in its final road games of the season, taking on Minnesota in Minneapolis on Wednesday afternoon. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
