GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota head football coach Bubba Schweigert announced the dates for his team's 2015 spring practices on Wednesday. Schweigert enters his second season at the helm of the program that currently has 74 active players, including nine mid-year transfers.
Per NCAA rules, Division I football programs are allowed 15 dates to practice during the spring semester and UND will get its first one underway on Friday, March 27. All 15 sessions will be held at Memorial Stadium and the spring season will conclude with a scrimmage on Saturday, April 25 at 11:30 a.m.
Schweigert's 2014 squad finished with a 5-7 record in his first season and took the momentum of winning its final two Big Sky games into the offseason. “Our guys have been working hard since we got back from Greeley in late November,” Schweigert said. “They have put in the time and effort that we are looking for in the weight room over this winter and each one is eager to get back on the field as we continue preparations for the 2015 season.”
UND will open the 2015 season on Sept. 5 with a non-conference game at Wyoming. Drake will come to Grand Forks for the team's home opener on Sept. 12.
