GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota football coach Bubba Schweigert announced the addition of Carl Reinholz to his coaching staff on Thursday. Reinholz spent the 2014 season as a volunteer intern for the UND football program after finishing a four-year playing career at Minot State University.
As a full-time member of the staff, Reinholz will serve as a defensive assistant on the field and also coordinate the program's video operations.
“Coach Reinholz did a great job for us as a volunteer intern last season and I really appreciate all the hard work he put into that position,” Schweigert said. “Now, we get to add to him to the staff as a full-time member and think he will continue to do a great job for us in his new role.”
Reinholz lettered four seasons at wide receiver for the Beavers under current UND offensive coordinator Paul Rudolph, who joined the staff prior to the 2014 season. Reinholz earned his bachelors of science degree in corporate fitness from Minot State in 2014 and prepped at Rapelje (Mont.) High School near his hometown of Molt, Mont.
“This is a great opportunity for me and I'm excited to be staying on here at UND in this new role,” Reinholz said. “I think we have a great staff and I'm proud to be a part of the great tradition that is North Dakota football.”
UND will open the 2015 season at Wyoming on Sept. 5. Players report for fall camp on Thursday, Aug. 6.
