Ogden, Utah -- North Dakota sophomore quarterback Keaton Studsrud was named the Big Sky ROOT SPORTS Offensive Player of the Week on Monday in an announcement made by league officials. Studsrud earned his first weekly award on the merit of a career best three-touchdown, 260-yard passing performance in UND's 21-18 victory over Drake last Saturday.
Studsrud also set career highs in completions with 19 as he has won his fourth-consecutive start dating back to last season. He has led UND to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2012 season. The St. Louis Park, Minn., native had thrown only two touchdowns in his first five career starts entering the game.
Studsrud also connected on the two longest completions of his young career, finding Luke Stanley for a 59-yard scoring play in the first quarter and later finding Miguel Cerriteno for a 43-yard gain in the third quarter. This is the first weekly honor for a UND player in 2015.
