2017 UND football class ready to take flight

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Bubba Schweigert's fourth recruiting class as the North Dakota football head coach features 20 new additions from the high school ranks of six different states. Fifteen of those players signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, while the remaining five were guaranteed a roster spot and committed to playing collegiately for UND. With four mid-year additions on the roster already, UND's 2017 recruiting class now stands at 24.

"National Signing Day is always something that we look forward to as a football staff. Today is the culmination of all the hard work put in by our coaches and it's always a special day to enjoy with them and share the news with our great fan base,” Schweigert said. “Overall, I think we accomplished our goal of bringing in another athletic class that I think will certainly help us down the road and there is some potential in this group to help us right away. We are always going to target the same body type as years past and I think this class fits that profile well. We have several multi-sport athletes and I think that really shows the competitive nature that we want on our football team."
