GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota made it a tidy day one at the UND Classic, sweeping both opponents capped by another efficient nightcap against Appalachian State. After logging just seven attack errors in an earlier win Friday, UND recorded just nine in the evening session, the 19th time North Dakota has charted single-digit attack totals in head coach Mark Pryor's tenure and first in back-to-back matches.

"Tonight we did a better job of playing hard and disciplined on the defensive side," Pryor said. "Appalachian State is gonna be good. This match was just one that was a match advantage for us in a couple spots, and we were able to take advantage. We have the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State tomorrow morning, and that is a future Summit opponent, so we need to be ready for one more here at the Betty this week."

Three UND players recorded double digits in kills led by Faith Dooley's 12. Ashley Brueggeman and Tamara Merseli each contributed 11 in the win while Sydney Griffin had 33 assist, nine digs, four kills and three blocks and Alivia Fraase notched 15 digs. 

North Dakota (12-1) hosts SDSU at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. UND will carry a 14-match winning streak into that contest.
