Notes: Final regular season home game on deck

UND to salute its 16 seniors

John Santiago is one of 16 UND seniors that will be honored Saturday.
ON TAP
North Dakota (5-4) plays its final regular season home game Saturday, hosting Portland State. The Vikings (4-5, 3-3 Big Sky) just had their three-game winning streak snapped with a tough 48-45 loss to Idaho State last week.

UP NEXT
North Dakota travels to Flagstaff, Ariz., for a battle with the Lumberjacks of Northern Arizona. NAU has been without its star quarterback Case Cookus and have scuffled to a 3-6 overall record so far this season.

LAST TIME OUT
Host Idaho got a fourth-quarter punt block for a touchdown and later converted on a fourth-down in the final minutes to overcome a 10-point deficit for a 31-27 win at the Kibbie Dome. UND senior Brady Oliveira rushed for a career-high 190 yards and added two rushing touchdowns but injuries piled up on the offensive side of the ball and the Vandals were able to steal a comeback win.

LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET
After falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter, North Dakota dominated the remainder of the game to register a 48-21 victory over Portland State October 28 last season at Providence Park. The Fighting Hawks would pick up their first road win of the season in the victory and got touchdowns from all three phases to snap a two-game losing streak.

THE SERIES VS PORTLAND STATE
The Fighting Hawks have won five of the seven meetings between the schools, including a 4-1 mark in the FCS era. UND's most lopsided win in the series came last season, a 48-21 drubbing in Portland, Ore.

SENIOR SENDOFF
North Dakota will honor its 16 seniors today playing in their final regular season home game. This group includes eight from the defense: (Austin Cieslak, Steve Greer, Deion Harris, Tank Harris, Dijon Murray, Tanner Palmborg, Everett Williams, Tyron Vrede), seven offensive players (Grant Aplin, Tyler Coyne, Luke Fiedler, Brady Oliveira, John Santiago, Luke Stanley, Adam Stiner) and one specialist (punter Warren Taylor).

LARSON ADDED TO JERRY RICE AWARD WATCH LIST
Linebacker Noah Larson was recently added to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List, an honor that recognizes the top freshman in all of FCS football. Larson has started all nine games for North Dakota and ranks second on the team in total tackles (49) heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.

AMONG THE NATION'S LEADERS - BUBBA BALL
North Dakota finds itself in among the leaders in a host of different statistical categories to include team sacks (5th- 3.4 /gm), time of possession (11th- 32:35) and rushing offense (252.9 - 11th). Running the ball, playing solid defense and possessing the football are all key tenets of head coach Bubba Schweigert's game plan.

RED JARRETT WAY
University of North Dakota officials announced the renaming of the road in front of the High Performance Center to be dubbed "Red Jarrett Way" in honor of the legendary student-athlete, coach and athletics director.

Jarrett, who was enshrined in UND Athletics' Hall of Fame in 1975, was named the football program's first All-American in 1930 and also excelled in basketball and track and field. He lettered three times in each of those sports and would also be the head coach of all three of those programs at various times throughout a stretch from 1946-1958 where he served as the athletics director.
