Box Score 2 DES MOINES, Iowa – The University of North Dakota men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday, falling to Nebraska, 4-1, before dropping the finale, 6-1, to Drake in Des Moines.

Nebraska 4, North Dakota 1
The Cornhuskers won all four singles matches played to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 advantage to give the Cornhuskers their fourth straight win to open the day on Saturday.

After Nebraska won the first match in doubles play on the No. 2 court, the duo of
Jake Kuhlman and
Chuck Tang evened the score at one with a 6-3 triumph at the No. 3 position to force the point to be decided on the top court.

Lukas Buth and
Nejc Sitar cemented the doubles point for the Fighting Hawks with a 7-5 victory on the No. 1 court to give UND a 1-0 lead.

From there, Nebraska answered with four wins in singles play to clinch the match and captured the overall victory. Johnnie Carmichael won the first set, 6-3, and was leading 3-2 in the second set on the No. 3 court when the match was called.

Drake 6, North Dakota 1
In the first Summit League match in program history, the No. 46 Drake Bulldogs defeated UND, 6-1, in Des Moines to close out the day of action.

Drake clinched the doubles point early with wins on the No. 3 and 1 courts, but the pairing of Carmichael and
Alex Reinke battled at the No. 2 position before eventually falling, 7-6, to give the Bulldogs the sweep.

The Bulldogs completed the victory with five wins on the singles courts, but the Fighting Hawks earned a point on the scoresheet with a 7-5, 6-0 victory by Carmichael on the No. 3 court.

North Dakota returns to action next Saturday in Green Bay, Wis. against Green Bay at 4 p.m.
