Box Score GRAND FORKS, N.D. - To close out their home schedule, the University of North Dakota men's tennis team fell to Denver 6-1 Sunday morning at Choice Health & Fitness. The Denver Pioneers are currently ranked first in the Summit League.
The Fighting Hawks were topped by a tough Denver team. North Dakota came up short in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches, resulting in doubles point to the Pioneers. The No. 1 singles match went unfinished.
In singles play, the Fighting Hawks dropped five of six matches to the Pioneers.
Lukas Buth was the lone Fighting Hawk to come up with a point when he defeated Denver's Matt Summers 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 in the No. 2 singles match.Â
The Fighting Hawks return to action against Summit League opponent Valparaiso, who is currently ranked 3 in the Summit League, on April 20 at 2:00 pm in Valparaiso, Ind.
