AUSTIN, Texas -- North Dakota women's tennis student-athlete
Kaede Amano was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American NCAA Division I Women's At-Large Third Team on Friday afternoon. The award is nominated and voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Amano becomes the first student-athlete at UND to earn the honor since softball player Taylor Nadler in 2018 and only the second women's tennis player in program history to accomplish the feat (Erin Sullivan, 2006). Over its history, UND has produced 28 Academic All-Americans since moving to Division I in 2008 and 64 at the Division II level, the fourth-most all-time among DII schools.
Among the 45 women selected to the Academic All-America® Division I At-Large teams, 21 carry a 4.0 grade-point average. The 17 members of the women's at-large first team carry an average GPA of 3.926.
