GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Head coach
Chris Logan and the University of North Dakota soccer program announced 11 signees to its 2023 class on Monday. Seven different states are represented in the signing class.
"This is a really exciting class full of talented soccer players and wonderful people," said Coach Logan. "This class includes everything and will add immediate competition to our squad next fall. Strong goalkeepers, aggressive defenders, technical midfielders, goal-scoring forwards... we feel this class is going to make a huge impact on the program and be a lot of fun to work with!"
The signing class is listed below, in alphabetical order.
Brynn Belcher | MF | 5-4 | Las Vegas, Nev. | Shadow Ridge HS
* All-League and Offensive Player of the Year in 2021
* 2021 Invitee to the Girls Academy Southwest ID Camp for top players born in 2005
* Has 19 goals and seven assists as a varsity player
Madalyn Carlson | D | 5-5 | Mesa, Ariz. | Red Mountain HS
* First team all-region as a junior, second team as a sophomore and honorable mention as a freshman
* Played for the AZSC Thunder 04/05 DP club team
* Made the quarterfinals at state both sophomore and junior seasons
Ariana Chisteckoff | MF | 5-8 | Las Vegas, Nev. | Liberty HS
* Two-time Nevada State Cup Champion
* Southern California State Cup Champion
* Earned the Golden Boot Award at Liberty HS
* Member of the Albion SC Las Vegas 05 GA club team
Sofia Desirello | F | 5-8 | Menifee, Calif. | Paloma Valley HS
* Named the Offensive Player of the Year as a junior
* Second team all-conference in 2022
* Member of the Legends TV 04/05 Elite 64 club
Aubrey Dew | MF | 5-8 | Fargo, N.D. | Shanley HS
* Netted a hat trick last spring in the 4-0 win over Grand Forks Red River
* Helped lead Shanley to a runner-up finish at state in 2022
* Named a captain heading into the 2023 season for Shanley High School
Kaylie Fowler | F | 5-2 | Liberty Hill, Texas | Liberty Hill HS
* Member of the Lone Star 04/05 GA club team
* First team all-district striker in 2022
* Scored 22 goals and had 15 assists in the 2022 season
Annika Franz | GK | 5-7 | Riverton, Utah | Riverton HS
* Had a regional goals against average of 0.96
* Also had a National League Conference GAA mark of 0.77
* GK for the National League Northwest Conference Undefeated Champions
* Participated in PDP and ID2 events
Mikayla Gonzalez | D | 5-5 | La Mirada, Calif. | La Mirada HS
* First team all-CIF as a junior and was also a second team member both freshman and sophomore seasons
* Named the Suburban League Defensive MVP as a junior
* Led La Mirada to an undefeated league record (7-0-1) in 2022
Raigan Jager | F | 5-9 | Carlsbad, Calif. | La Costa Canyon HS
* Member of the CIF Open Division Champions with La Costa Canyon HS
* Scored seven goals and dished out three assists with an 0.9 goals per match average
* First team all-CIF as a sophomore
* Plays for the Our City SC San Diego club team
Sarah Ruenes | GK | 5-7 | Frisco, Texas | Centennial HS
* First team all-district GK as a sophomore
* Played for the Dallas Texas 04/05 ECNL club team
* Invited to the Girls Academy Talent ID event for top players born in 2005
Avery Toms | CM/CB | 5-7 | Maple Grove, Minn. | Maple Grove HS
* First team all-conference as a junior and as a senior
* Invited to the Girls Mid-America Talent ID event – selected as one of the top 30 players born in 2005
* Scored five goals and had four assists in 2022
