MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team fell, 7-0, at Minnesota on Friday afternoon from the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn. to open the weekend.
UND (1-4) battled against one of the top teams in the region and in the Big Ten, but the Golden Gophers (7-0) failed to drop a set to secure the victory.
Andrea Jansson put up a tough fight at the No. 2 court, falling by a 7-6 score in the opening set and a 6-4 decision in the second.
Allie Ochotorena and
Angela Georgieva also notched three game victories in a set on the third and fifth courts, respectively.
North Dakota returns to action with a Saturday doubleheader against Northern Iowa and Gustavus Adolphus.
