Former University of North Dakota wide receiver and return specialist Weston Dressler will be inducted into the 2022 SaskTel Plaza of Honour on August 19, the Saskatchewan Roughriders announced on Monday afternoon.

The annual SaskTel Plaza of Honour has inducted 135 individuals, including two UND products in Scott Schultz (2015) and Lawrie Skolrood (2008). The Plaza of Honour is made up of Roughriders that have made major contributions to the proud tradition of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club.

A Bismarck, N.D., native, Dressler spent eight of his 11 Canadian Football League (CFL) seasons with the Roughriders after making his CFL debut on June 28, 2008. With Saskatchewan, Dressler played in 123 games and saw action in nine playoff games, including two Grey Cups in 2010 and 2013.

In his CFL career with the Riders, he ranks third all-time in receiving yards and receptions with 7,792 yards on 538 catches. He sits fifth in Riders history for touchdowns with 50 and had five seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards. In 2012, Dressler led the league with 13 touchdown receptions.

Dressler piled up the accolades as a Rider, being named to the Western All-Star team in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. He also garnered CFL All-Star honors in 2012 and 2013, winning the Grey Cup in 2013.

In his first season with the CFL, Dressler made headlines and was named the Most Outstanding Rookie in 2008. That season, he played in 15 games for the Roughriders, catching 56 passes for 1,123 yards and six touchdowns, leading the team in each category. He also added 1,014 yards in kick and punt returns to finish third in the CFL with 2,219 all-purpose yards.

Dressler played at UND from 2004-07 and earned 14 different All-America honors and was a four-time selection to the All-North Central Conference first team. As a senior in 2007, Dressler became the first player in league history to earn All-NCC first team honors at three different positions (receiver, return specialist, utility) in the same season. He graduated as UND's all-time leader in virtually every receiving category, including receptions (243), receiving yards (3,382) and touchdown catches (38).
