GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota volleyball team hosted Minnesota State Moorhead in exhibition play and won in a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-14, 25-21) inside the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on Saturday afternoon.
Despite UND winning the first three sets, five sets were played in the exhibition. Due to the nature of the exhibition and all five sets being played after the 3-0 mark, official statistics were not kept. The Fighting Hawks finished on the winning side of the first four sets by tallies of 25-18, 25-14, 25-21 and 26-24. The Dragons took the fifth set by a score of 15-12.
The Hawks will open the season at the Farmer's State Bank Invitational on Friday, Aug. 26. North Dakota will play tournament host Montana at 11 a.m. to begin the tournament before squaring off with UC Davis that evening.
