Two Hawks Named to Phil Steele Freshman All-American Teams

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A pair of North Dakota football players were named to the Phil Steele Freshman All-American Teams on Friday. Center Cade Borud was selected as a Phil Steele Second Team Freshman All-American, while linebacker Lance Rucker earned Fourth Team honors.

Started all 12 games at center … His blocking helps UND currently sit No. 2 in the MVFC and No. 3 nationally in completion percentage (70.3) … UND QB's have the No. 14 passing efficiency rating in the country (153.02) when he is on the offensive line … Helped NoDak pile up over 500 yards of offense twice this season, highlighted by 652 yards against Drake … Named to the MVFC All-Newcomer Team.

Saw action in all 12 games as a reserve linebacker … Seventh on the team in TFL's with 3.0 … Tied for fifth on the team with 1.0 sack … Recorded 12 total tackles, with nine of them being solo stops … Also recorded a pair of quarterback hurries.
