Box Score FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota Softball team snapped a four game losing streak Sunday with a 4-3 victory over North Dakota State. Jackie Albrecht picked up her third win of the season with a 5.2 inning start in which she allowed only three runs on six hits, with five strikeouts; while Paige Vargas took the loss. Camryn Lasota picked up her third save of the season with 1.1 innings pitched to close out the game.
Down 1-0 in the third inning, UND got on the board with two outs as Madison Pederson drove a single into left that brought Katie Joten in to score and tie the game. Both pitchers continued to control the game until the sixth.
Mariah Peters led off the sixth with a single. Then with two outs, Taya Hopfauf hit a single through the right side and brought Peters in to score. Later, with the bases loaded, Joten hit a two run double down the left field line to make it a 4-1 game. In the bottom of the frame the Bison got a two run single to make it a 4-3 game.
In the seventh both teams got one runner on base but neither were able to come in and score.

· Cassie Castaneda has now hit safely in seven of her last eight games.
