Box Score BOZEMAN, Mont. -- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team fell, 5-2, to Seattle on Saturday afternoon in a neutral-site match from Bozeman, Mont.
Doubles were tightly contested for the second straight day, with UND's (0-2) top pairing of
Sapir Sela and
Andrea Jansson notching a 7-5 victory to start the season 2-0, but Seattle (1-0) grabbed a pair of close wins on the bottom two courts to take a 1-0 lead.
Sela kept her momentum rolling in singles action, battling to a three set triumph at the No. 2 court for her first singles win of the season. The senior grabbed a 7-6 victory in the opening set before cruising to a 10-4 triumph in the tiebreaker to finish her weekend with a 3-1 overall mark.
Jule Schulte was the other point scorer for the Hawks, as the sophomore capped off a perfect singles weekend on the No. 5 court by a 6-0, 6-3 score. Schulte matched her teammate with a 3-1 record over the two matches, grabbing two singles wins and a doubles victory on Friday.
Seattle took the match with a tetrad of singles victories to close out the 5-2 match score.
North Dakota returns to action next Friday with a road contest at Air Force beginning at 6:30 p.m. from Colorado Springs, Colo.
