Softball Releases 2024 Spring Schedule

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The North Dakota softball team has announced its schedule for the 2024 spring season. The team has 56 games on its schedule, featuring tournaments in Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Florida, California and Nebraska.

The schedule begins on February 9 with the team playing at the Mardi Gras Mambo in Youngsville, La. with five games—Southern and Nicholls State on the ninth, followed by Eastern Illinois and Southeastern Louisiana on the tenth and then Louisiana Monroe on Feb. 11.

Next, the team heads to the UTEP/NMSU Tournament starting on Feb. 16 with a doubleheader against Sacramento State. Then the next day play hosts UTEP and Purdue Fort Wayne. On Feb. 18 the team plays a single game against UTEP and then finish with New Mexico State the next day.

The team stays south with games at Prairie View A&M on Feb. 21, followed by Houston Christian the next day. Then the team plays three games on the campus of McNeese State—against Lamar on Feb. 23, followed by McNeese later that day and then Niagara the next day.

Next, on March 1 the team starts the FIU Classic against Illinois Chicago and Seton Hall. The next day the team plays hosts Florida International, followed by a playoff round against a TBD opponent, and then a second playoff round on March 3. The team will stay in South Florida for games against Southern Indiana on March 5 and Bethune-Cookman the next day.

The team then flies across the country for the Fullerton Round Robin for games against Fairfield and Utah State on March 8, San Diego State the next day and then close out with Princeton and Grand Canyon on March 10.

On March 14 the Big Red Classic will start at the University of Nebraska, with the Fighting Hawks taking on Northern Colorado, followed by Nebraska the next day and then Northern Colorado on March 16. The team stays in the Cornhusker State with a doubleheader against Creighton in Omaha.

UND plays their final nonconference series from March 22-24 with one game each day at Montana.

The Summit League slate begins at South Dakota State from March 29-30, with two games on Friday followed by a single on Saturday. Next is South Dakota from April 6-7 in Grand Forks, then at St. Thomas on April 13-14, then a single nonconference game against Minot State on April 17. Summit League play resumes against North Dakota State on April 20-21 in Grand Forks, then a single game against Minnesota Crookston on April 24. The Summit League schedule concludes on April 27-28 against conference champions Omaha at the Apollo and then finishes on May 3-4 with Kansas City coming to Grand Forks.

The Summit League tournament will be held in Brookings from May 8-11.
