Box Score RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas -- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team fell, 5-2, to UTRGV on Friday afternoon from Orville Cox Tennis Center in Rio Grande Valley, Texas. 

UND nearly dug itself out of a 3-0 hole, but came up just short in a pair of three set matches to fall by the 5-2 score in the final road match of a four-game swing. 

The bottom duo of Aziza Aubin and Lucia Rizza got the Fighting Hawks off to a strong start, opening up doubles play with a 6-2 triumph, but the Vaqueros held strong on their home court with a pair of tight wins on the No. 1 and 2 courts to grab the 1-0 lead. 

UTRGV extended its lead to 3-0 with back-to-back victories to open singles play, but Aubin started to claw the visitors back with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 6 court and saw the final trio of singles matches all go to a third set. 

Andrea Jansson earned the second point of the night for UND on the second spot, sandwiching a pair of 6-4 scores in the first and third stanzas. The Vaqueros earned the 5-2 match victory by claiming the final two matches in the third set. 

North Dakota returns home to battle UMary at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 22 from Choice Health and Fitness from Grand Forks, N.D.
