GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota volleyball's
Paige Barber was named All-League First Team, announced by the Summit League on Saturday morning. Awards are voted on by the Summit League coaches. She becomes the first Fighting Hawks to be named first team all-conference since Jordan Vail earned the accolade in 2018. It is the 21st first team all-conference honor that UND has earned since joining division l.
Barber had a career season in Grand Forks, logging 374 kills, 169 digs, 47.0 blocks, 20 service aces and 14 assists on a .207 hit percentage across 27 matches and 98 sets.She ranked second in the conference in kills and third in kills/set (3.82), posting career bests in a season in every statistical category.
The Brecksville, Ohio native posted 22 matches with 10 or more kills, 11 performances of 15 or more kills and three outings with 20 or more kills. Barber had a match-high in kills in 18-of-27 matches this season.
The senior was named Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week twice this season on Sept. 30 and Oct. 14, becoming the 19th player in program history to reach the 1,000-career kill mark on Nov. 15 vs. St. Thomas. Her 1,007 career kills (seventh) and 374 kills this season (fourth) both rank top-10 statistically in the division l era. The 374 kills were the most by any UND player in a season since Faith Dooley compiled 418 in 2017.
