Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SPARTANBURG, S.C. – North Dakota concluded action in the Palmetto State on Saturday avenging a Friday loss to Buffalo with a 7-6 win over the Bulls, while host Wofford avenged its Thursday night defeat to the Fighting Hawks winning 2-1 in the rematch. The Hawks finish the weekend 2-3 and move to 8-10 on the season.

Against the Bulls, North Dakota plated the game's first run as Taya Hopfauf doubled home Katie Joten who started the inning with a walk. UND carried that 1-0 advantage into its next at bat as a potential tying run was cut down in a 2-4-2 CS of home to end the Buffalo threat in the first.

Similar to the Hawks, the Bulls plated a lead off walk in the home half of the second inning to even the score at 1-1. North Dakota opened up the contest with a four-run third inning as Hopfauf accounted for another RBI by plating Joten on a base hit which was immediately followed by a three-run home run off the bat of Katelyn Neumayer, her first of the season and the fifth Hawk to leave the yard this campaign, to give the Hawks a 5-1 lead.

Buffalo responded with a three-run home run in a three-hit third inning to pull within one. The Bulls evened the contest in the fourth as a run scored on a fielder's choice, but in the next half inning UND left the yard again. Callie Honig sent a 1-0 pitch out of play the right way to put the Hawks back in front at 6-5 and two innings later, a key insurance run crossed as Neumayer's fourth RBI of the contest plated Joten, who jumpstarted the frame with a triple, to give UND a 7-5 advantage.

Buffalo put runners at the corners with one out against Hawk reliever Emily Marr who up until that point had allowed just two hits and a single run in 3.1 innings of relief. Makaela Carr took over in the circle and after the Bulls scored a sixth run via sacrifice fly, Carr induced a fly out to close out the contest for her second save of the season, while Marr earned the victory.

In the nightcap, Jackie Albrecht went 6.2 innings scattering three hits and three free passes, while fanning eight. Wofford won on a wild pitch as leadoff single and consecutive sacrifices moved the winning run to third. UND's lone run was scored by Brooklyn House who accounted for one of the Hawk's three hits in the loss. Joten recorded the RBI.

The Hawks prepare for a second straight trip to the southeastern United States as next weekend's action sends North Dakota to Atlanta for the Bob Heck Memorial hosted by Georgia State. UND will matchup against Colgate, Rutgers, West Georgia and the host on Friday through Sunday. Live coverage links for the weekend's action will be available at www.FightingHawks.com.
