Box Score OMAHA, Neb. -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team made it a clean sweep in Omaha on Sunday morning, notching a 4-3 win over Creighton to finish the weekend a perfect 3-0.

"This weekend was a great test for our team physically, but even more so mentally and emotionally," said UND head coach Tom Boysen. "Playing three matches in three days against opponents as good and talented as Omaha and Creighton in great preparation for the final stretch of our season."

The win continues to set new marks for the program, with the win streak extending to a record-long 13 straight while also setting a new program record for wins in a single season with 16.

Unlike last night, it was Creighton who got off to the early lead in doubles action, grabbing wins on the No. 1 and 2 courts to take the 1-0 lead. The bottom duo of Christos Alex and Jerall Yasin picked up a victory in two-man play by a 6-4 score.

"In today's match, I was so proud of the resolve we showed after losing the doubles point," said Boysen. "The guys just refused to go down without leaving everything they had on the court, and in the end, we played some great tennis to finish with a win."

NoDak quickly grabbed hold of the contest's momentum as play shifted to singles, as Ange-Kevin Koua evened the match at 1-1 with a 7-6, 6-3 score on the No. 3 court before Leandro Zgraggen gave the visitors their first lead of the day with a 7-5, 6-2 win from the top spot to make it 2-1 UND.

Federico Fiorda moved into the No. 2 position for the Fighting Hawks and picked up a critical point, notching a 6-3, 6-4 win to increase the advantage to 3-1 and move NoDak into a clinching position. After back-to-back victories by Creighton evened the match at 3-3, Ethan Terry sealed the win on the No. 4 court by a 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 score to clinch the perfect weekend.

"For Federico to pick up a win in his first singles action in quite a while in a pressure situation and for Ethan to win another third set tiebreaker in a 3-3 match shows how deep we are this year," said Boysen. "We are excited to get back home to play the next two weekends."

North Dakota will return home to host Illinois State on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. from Choice Health and Fitness.
