Jule Schulte, Nore Heinitz sweep Summit League weekly honors

| By:
GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- A pair of Fighting Hawks took home both of the conference's weekly honors on Tuesday afternoon, as Jule Schulte was named Kwik Star Summit League Women's Tennis Singles Peak Performer of the Week before teaming up with Nore Heinitz to earn the Kwik Star Summit League Women's Tennis Doubles Peak Performer of the Week.

Schulte was dominant on both the singles and doubles courts for UND, going a perfect 4-0 over the weekend to help lead the squad to a pair of wins over South Dakota and Minnesota State. On the singles side, Schulte helped break a 2-2 deadlock with a 7-6, 6-3 win on the No. 3 court in an eventual 4-3 victory over USD to help clinch a postseason berth before closing out her weekend with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at the No. 2 spot against the Mavericks. Her singles win over MSU was the 100th of her career, as she became the first player at UND to eclipse the mark in just three seasons.

Heinitz and Schulte teamed up for another perfect weekend on the No. 2 court in doubles action, helping clinch the crucial doubles point against South Dakota with a 6-4 victory in that 4-3 win before cruising to a 6-1 triumph to seal the 1-0 lead for the hosts against Minnesota State. The duo have been nearly perfect against league opponents this year, sitting at 4-1.

North Dakota will close the regular season against Denver on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from Choice Health and Fitness.
