GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota men's basketball guard,
Greyson Uelmen earned Summit League Peak Performer of the Week, announced by the Summit League on Tuesday afternoon. It is Uelmen's first player of the week accolade and he is the first Fighting Hawk since Treyson Eaglestaff on Dec. 23, 2024, to take home the award.
Uelmen averaged 22.0 points, 2.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game on 50.0% from the field and 42.9% from deep, across two wins last week against Denver and Oral Roberts. He poured in a career-high 30 points in a win over Denver on Saturday, totaling 21 in the second half of that contest, on 9-of-15 shooting and 9-for-13 from the stripe overall. He was the first freshman to score 30 points since Troy Huff had 31 against Houston Christian on March 3, 2011.
Prior to Denver, the redshirt freshman had 14 points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal on 8-of-8 from the free throw line, in a road victory over Oral Roberts.
The Excelsior, Minn., native leads the team, averaging 14.3 points per game on the season, on 48.9% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range. His 14.3 points per contest ranks seventh in the Summit League.
Uelmen is averaging 18.4 points per game in conference play, good for fifth in the Summit League. He has three 20 or more point performances this season and 18 games with 10 or more points.
The guard has appeared in all 24 games, making 23 starts. Along with leading the team in points per game (14.3), Uelmen ranks second on the team in assists (2.4), and third in steals per game (1.3). He is third in the conference in free throws made (104) and free throws attempted (130).
UND will be back in action on Thursday, at St. Thomas, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
