GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- UND senior track athlete Michelle Burgard (Jamestown, N.D.) was one of five conference women's track athletes named as a repeat selection to the Academic North Central Conference Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, the conference office announced today.

Burgard, a communications major with a 3.84 grade point average, participated in the jumps events for UND. She was joined on the NCC women's academic team by middle distance runner Heidi Evans (Sr., Roseau, Minn.) and distance runner Kristy Keithley (Jr., Dickinson, N.D.).

Evans, a physical education major, has a 3.60 grade point average. Keithley, a nursing major, has a 3.94 grade point average.

DeKrey, Spitsberg honored by NCC
Two Fighting Sioux men's track & field athletes were named to the 2006-07 Academic North Central Conference Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, the conference office announced today.

Senior cross country and track runners Lee DeKrey (Sr., Grand Forks, N.D.) and Richie Spitsberg (Sr., East Grand Forks, Minn.) were each named to the team.

DeKrey, an interdisciplinary studies major, has a 3.69 grade point average. Spitsberg, a mechanical engineering major, has a 3.53 grade point average.
