Bulldogs bite Sioux, win in three

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The third-ranked Bulldogs showed that their bite is worse than their bark by defeated UND 3-0. UMD won 30-15, 30-14, and 30-21. UMD finished with an attack percentage of .343. With the victory the Bulldogs improve to 17-1 overall and 4-0 in the NCC. North Dakota drops to 5-12 overall and 0-3 in the NCC.

The Fighting Sioux offense was led by senior Tara Holmen (Berthold, N.D.) who finished with 10 kills. UND struggled offensively as they managed an attack percentage of .036 in the match (26 kills - 22 errors - 112 attempts). Setter Megan Langseth (So., Alexandria, Minn.) tallied 19 set assists in the contest.

Defensively the Sioux were led by a pair of freshman, Courtney Halvorson (Oklee, Minn.) and Erin Joki (Grand Rapids, Minn.). Halvorson led UND with 12 digs and Joki added 11 in the contest.

UND will return to action on October 5 against St. Cloud State in another NCC showdown. The game will be played at Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud, Minn. at 7:00 p.m.
