Baseball's series with Upper Iowa canceled

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- North Dakota's series with Central Region foe, Upper Iowa, has been canceled due to inclement weather. It is the second weekend series this season that has been canceled due to weather.

The Sioux will return to action on March 29-30 in a four-game series against Minnesota, Crookston.

Minnesota, Crookston and North Dakota are both under the direction of first-year head coaches. Chris Vito has led the Golden Eagles to a 3-3 record this season, and a recent split with Bemidji State; winning 18-16 and losing 7-1.

North Dakota's Timm Pint has the Sioux sitting at .500 this season. The Fighting Sioux are 5-5, and split a series with Dickinson State on March 18, winning 11-3 and losing 9-2.
