This weekend we traveled to Victoria, British Columbia, where we will play Canada tonight. In our video we thought we would show people our house and where we are living for the next six months. We are living with four other teammates as you will see in the video.
This past week we have been training on and off the ice and have had our team psychologist visit. An average day consists of a practice starting at 10:00 a.m. with a workout scheduled after practice.
"Living the dream" is what someone might call this. This is the biggest stage for women's hockey players and we are both appreciating and taking in the experience as much as we can. Although many of our teammates have found a lot of free time, homework is still part of our routine as we are completing our red-shirt year to be able to compete in next year's season with UND.
This Saturday will be the start of an eight-day road trip where we will end up in Warroad on the Oct. 10 playing UND. Our game tonight against Canada will be televised on the NHL Network, which is a good oppurtunity for women's hockey to be promoted before Vancouver.
Hope you enjoy the videos and congrats to the men's and women's teams with good opening weekends!
Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux
