GRAND FORKS, N.D.--The Fighting Sioux tennis team won its second straight match this morning at the UND Invitational, defeating the University of Mary 5-0 at Center Court Fitness Club.
Junior Brynne Wischer (Grand Forks) and senior Katie Wessman (Fargo, N.D.) blanked the Marauders' Brianna Thomas and Brianna Meyer, 8-0, in No. 1 doubles competition.
In No. 2 doubles, freshman Tiffany Reisenauer (Dickinson, N.D.) paired with junior Molly Maurer (Hutchinson, Minn.) for an 8-3 win over Whitney Fredericks and Megan Bosch.
Sisters Emily Callison (Sr., Mesa, Ariz.) and Katie Callison (Jr., Mesa, Ariz.) combined for an 8-2 win over Michelle Bauer and Fredericks in No. 3 doubles action.
Emily Callison earned a straight-set (6-1, 6-1) win over Bauer in No. 1 singles play, then Maurer and Wessman each nabbed straight set victories with identical 6-0, 6-0 scores in No. 4 and 5 singles play, respectively.
UND will wrap up the tournament later today against Northern State.
